Disclaimer
No Medical Advice; Not a Medical Service or Device
Starlie is not a medical provider and does not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Starlie mobile application and its tools, including the Starlie AI assistant (collectively, the "Services"), provide general informational and educational content only, particularly in the area of childcare and wellness.
The Services are not a medical service and are not a medical device. The Services do not assess your or your child's health or condition, do not diagnose any illness or disorder, and do not recommend, prescribe, or provide any treatment. Any information, prompt, reminder, prediction, or suggestion generated by the Services is general in nature and is not personalized clinical guidance.
The content provided by the Services is not a substitute for professional advice, including but not limited to medical, legal, financial, mental health, or other professional services. The Services do not have real-time awareness of your specific situation, medical history, or personal needs, and content generated by the Services may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
Do not use the Services as a substitute for consultation with a licensed professional. You should not delay, disregard, or discontinue any medical or other professional advice based on any content generated by the Services.
Product-Specific Health and Safety Notices
Infant sleep safety. The Services do not provide safe-sleep guidance, do not monitor your child, and cannot prevent, detect, or warn of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or any other danger to your child. Always follow the safe-sleep recommendations of your pediatrician and public health authorities. Sleep schedules, sleep statistics, and "growth spurt" content in the Services are informational only.
Feeding and allergens. The solids and allergen journal is a record-keeping tool only. It is not advice on when, whether, or how to introduce any food or allergen to your child. Decisions about introducing allergens should be made only in consultation with your pediatrician. If your child shows signs of an allergic reaction — such as hives, swelling, vomiting, or difficulty breathing — seek emergency medical help immediately.
Growth and development. Measurements, charts, and content about growth spurts in the Services are not an assessment of your child's growth and are not a developmental screening, and must not be used for diagnosis.
No professional relationship. Use of the Services, including the AI assistant, does not create a physician–patient relationship or any other professional relationship between you (or your child) and Starlie.
Artificial Intelligence Outputs
The Services include an AI assistant and other automatically generated features. Output produced by these features is generated automatically by software. Such output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or otherwise unsuitable, and it does not take account of your or your child's individual situation. You must not rely on AI-generated output as professional advice or as a basis for any decision affecting your or your child's health, safety, or wellbeing. Always verify important information with a qualified professional.
Emergencies
Do not use the Services in an emergency. If you believe you or your child are facing a medical emergency or any situation that may endanger health or safety, contact your local emergency services or a medical provider immediately. Never delay seeking, disregard, or discontinue professional help because of anything you have seen or done in the Services.
Assumption of Risk and Acknowledgement
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You use the Services voluntarily and at your own risk;
- You are solely responsible for how you use, interpret, and act on any information provided by the Services;
- You will not treat the Services, or any content or AI output they provide, as a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional;
- You are responsible for all decisions you make in connection with the care, safety, and wellbeing of your child;
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Starlie disclaims liability for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information provided by the Services. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or gross negligence);
- Use of the Services is subject to Starlie's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
